Is Magmug really free to use?
Core messaging is free. There is an optional premium tier for users who want extras like longer message history or custom themes, but every privacy feature is included in the free plan.
Does Magmug see my messages?
Conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. Once your retention window passes, the messages are deleted from our servers and cannot be recovered, even by us.
What is the shuffle feature?
Shuffle is an optional way to meet new people. You set the filters and you control when it is on. If you only want to talk to people you already know, shuffle stays off and never bothers you.
Can I use Magmug without giving a phone number?
Yes. Sign in with Apple or Google. We never ask for a phone number and we never link your account to your contact list.
What happens if someone reports me?
Reports are reviewed by our trust and safety team. Repeated abuse leads to account restrictions or removal. Frivolous reports are dismissed without affecting your account.
